Zips Fall to Bowling Green

AKRON, Ohio -The Akron volleyball team fell to the Bowling Green Falcons on Friday in straight sets (28-30, 24-26, 18-25).
The Zips were led by a double-double from Delaney Gash, who tied her career-high in kills with 11 and recorded 13 digs on the day. Karleighana Jones also added 10 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Reilly Chausse chipped in 12 digs to go along with 37 assists and four blocks from Eliska Vytiskova.
The loss dropped Akron's record to 8-13 overall and 4-5 in MAC play.

SET 2 | A 26-24 second-set loss put Akron behind two sets to none in the match. The Zips dropped a close second set, losing in a stanza that was tied 13 times and had seven lead changes.
SET 3 | Bowling Green finished off the sweep with a third-set win. The Zips dropped a tough set 25-18. Akron trailed by as many as seven points as Bowling Green grabbed the advantage for good at 14-13 in a set that was tied up four times before the Falcons took over in the second half of the stanza.
What's Next?
The Zips travel to Buffalo on October 22 before returning home to host Western Michigan from October 24-25.
