Zips Third at Dayton Flyer Invitational, Vora Leads Akron Scoring

Kettering, Ohio – The Akron golf team fired a 603 (+43) 36-hole total at the Dayton Flyer Invitational as junior Hridhika Vora fired an 8-over par 148 total to lead the Zips scoring on Monday at the NCR Country Club North Course (Par-70, 5,937 yards).
Vora currently ranks fourth overall on the players' leaderboard as she carded 19 par scores and six birdies. In the initial 18-hole round, Vora recorded 76 (+6) score with a pair of birdies and nine pars, and followed with a 2-over par 72 second round effort with four birdies and 10 pars.
Freshman Sohniya Chandra Mohan followed in scoring for Akron, ranking 11th overall on rounds of 73 (+3) and 77 (+7) for a 150 (+10) total. Mohan tallied three birdies and 22 pars on the day, ranking sixth overall in par scoring.
Also ranking sixth overall in par scoring was junior Maisarah Hezri with 22 pars in 36 holes played. She finished the 36-hole day with a 152 (+12) total on rounds of 77 (+7) and 75 (+5). Hezri enters the final round ranked 15th overall.
Rounding out the Zips scoring were juniors Avery Wright (+13, 77-76 – 153) and Emily Liptak (+17, 79-78 – 157), ranking 18th and 30th overall, respectively.
Sophomore Katrin Horn Danielsdottir competed as an individual carding a 88-86 – 174 (+34) for a 53rd overall ranking.
The Zips enter the final round of action at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
