AKRON, Ohio - The 10th-rated University of Akron rifle team travels to Lexington, Ky., for a showdown with No. 19 North Georgia on Sunday (Oct. 27).

The Zips will battle the Nighthawks at 9 a.m.

Redshirt senior Gavin Perkowski (Bolivar, Ohio) leads the Zips this season after posting team-best averages of 1179.80 and 595.60, respectively, in the combined and air rifles, while redshirt senior Erin Schnupp (Gorham, Maine) owns a team-best average of 586.8 in the smallbore rifle.

Scheduled to compete for the Zips this weekend will be Perkowski, Schnupp along with seniors Rachel Engels (Meridian, Idaho) and Alexis Kirk (Clarence Center, N.Y.) and juniors Rachael Paddock (Perry, N.Y.) and Natalia Siek (Flemington, N.J.).

Akron returns to competition traveling to Memphis for a showdown with the Tigers on Nov. 9.
