AKRON, Ohio - A first-half goal proved too much for the University of Akron women's soccer team to overcome as the Zips fell 1-0 to Eastern Michigan on Thursday (Oct. 31) at FirstEnergy Stadium.
How it Happened
The Eagles scored what proved to be the game-winning goal at the 43:21 mark when Olivia Slipsock found the back of the net to give Eastern Michigan a 1-0 lead.
Sophomore GK Sara Bower (Cincinnati, Ohio) led Akron with three saves.
The Zips recorded 15 shots in the loss, five of them on goal. Akron faced 12 Eastern Michigan shots, four of which fell on goal.
