AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron women's soccer team got a multi-goal performance from freshman Addison Hall (Manchester, Conn.) in a 5-3 victory over Southern Indiana on Sunday (Aug. 24) at FirstEnergy Stadium.

How it Happened

Akron took a 1-0 lead when Hall scored her first collegiate goal in the 15th minute (14:15) assisted by junior Jordanne Oberhaus (Wadsworth, Ohio).

The Screaming Eagles responded to make it a 1-1 game on a goal from Eva Boer at the 19:35 mark, assisted by Josie Pochocki.

Akron went up 2-1 on freshman Fineen Cregan's (Rochester, N.Y.) first collegiate tally in the 31st-minute (30:23) on a successful penalty kickl.

The Screaming Eagles fired back to knot it up at 2-2 with goal from Tierney Mullady, assisted by Grace Bamber at the 31:53 mark.

Akron broke the tie and took a 3-2 lead on senior Kylie Schiemann's (Geneva, Ohio) first goal of the season in the 37th minute, assisted by Cregan.

Southern Indiana leveled the match at 3-3 thanks to a 52nd-minute (51:51) goal from Peyton Murphy.

Senior Emma King (Akron, Ohio) netted what proved to be the game-winning goal, her first of the year, in the 62nd minute (61:39), assisted by Hall.

The Zips increased their lead to 5-3 thanks to an goal from Hall at the 80:51 mark, her second goal of the season. King and Cregan assisted the goal. The score was the last of the game.

Redshirt freshman GK Ariana Vakos (Avon, Ohio) recorded one save for the Zips out of nine total Screaming Eagles shots.
Akron registered a 6-5 advantage in shots on goal.
