Litchfield Park, Ariz. – Akron sophomore Hridhika Vora (Mumbai, Maharashtra) led the Zips golf team at the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate with a 235 (+22) tournament total on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Wigwam Blue Course in Arizona.

Vora fired a final round 75 (+4) final round to finish tied for 31^st overall. She added rounds of 81 (+10) and 79 (+8) while collecting 33 par scores, a birdie and an eagle. Vora moved up seven spots on the player board in the final 18-hole round, while sophomore Avery Wright (Jackson, Ohio) followed with a 82-77-79 – 238 (+25) to finish 40^th overall.

Junior Daphne van Son (Vlijmen, Netherlands) carded the low round score for the Zips, posting a 74 (+3) performance on the final 18 holes. She collected 28 par scores and five birdies for the tournament, including three birdies in the last round. She climed 23 postitions on the leaderboard to finish tied at 45^th overall, 85-82-74 – 241 (+28).

Seniors Abbi Fleiner (Reno, Nev.) and Jessica Hahn (Canton, Ohio) rounded out the team scoring efforts with 241 (+28) and 249 (+36) tournament totals. Fleiner also finished 45^th overall with van Son, posting a 78 (+7) final round score. In addition, freshman Katrin Horn Danielsdottir (Reykjavik, Iceland) posted a 255 (+42) total while competing as an individual.

As a team Akron finished tied for 12^th overall with a 326-320-306 – 952 (+100) tournament total.

The Zips spring season continues on Friday through Sunday, Feb. 23-25 as Akron travels to Rio Verde, Ariz. for the Rio Verde Invitational hosted by Western Michigan at Quail Run Golf Course.
