Vora and Fleiner Leads Akron Golf at 2024 Rio Verde Invitational

Rio Verde, Ariz. – The Akron golf team placed 10th overall at the 2024 Rio Verde Invitational as Hridhika Vora and Abbi Fleiner led the Zips scoring over 54 holes of play.
Akron carded a 299 (+11) final round to finish the three-day tournament with a 891 (+27) team total.
Fleiner followed a 1-under par second round tally with an even-par 72 final round to finish the tournament with an 8-over par 224 score. She registered 36 pars and six birdies while landing tied for 41st overall.
Vora led the Zips scoring with a 3-over par 219 total. Vora opened the 54-hole event with a 69 (-3) round followed by and even-par performance. On the final day, she fired a 78 (+6) and finished the tournament ranked tied for 19th overall. Vora collected a team-best eight birdies and 37 par scores.
Jessica Hahn and Daphne van Son followed in scoring for Akron, carding 228 (+12) and 229 (+13) tournament totals. Hahn shot 3-over in the final round and van Son posted a 2-over score. Hahn recorded 38. Pars and four birdies to finish tied for 55th overall, while van Son collected 30 pars and seven birdies.
Rounding out the Zips scoring was Avery Wright with a 235 (+19) ledger. Wright carded 32 pars and four birdies.
The Zips are scheduled to be back in action at the Spring Break Shootout on Monday and Tuesday, March 18-19 hosted by Western Kentucky at Lake Jovita Golf Club in Dade City, Fla.
