Seven Zips Earn CSC Academic At-Large All-District Honors

AKRON, Ohio – The 2024 Academic All-District® men's and women's at-large team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognized seven University of Akron student-athletes in seniors Abbi Fleiner (Reno, Nev.), Jacqueline Glassey (Kildeer, Ill.), Jessica Hahn (Canton, Ohio), Samantha Shultz (Fort Wayne, Ind.), Katie Paltz (Edison, N.J.) and Gavin Perkowski (Bolivar, Ohio) along with sophomore Macy Vail (Joppatowne, Md.) for their achievements for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender. Institutions are limited to six nominees per gender with each qualifying nominee being selected to the all-district squad.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests/sets played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the games/contests/sets.
Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in July.
