Akron Athletics Partners With Middle West Spirits To Elevate Fan Experience

AKRON, Ohio — The University of Akron Department of Athletics and Middle West Spirits have announced a multi-year strategic partnership that brings together two Ohio organizations committed to innovation, community engagement, and elevating the fan experience.
The new partnership establishes Middle West Spirits as the Official Craft Spirits Partner of Akron Athletics and marks the beginning of a collaborative effort to develop a unique co-branded spirits program to celebrates the University of Akron, its passionate fan base and the proud traditions of Zips Athletics.
Designed to extend beyond a traditional sponsorship, the partnership combines brand integration, fan engagement, hospitality, and product development to create new opportunities for alumni, supporters, and fans throughout Northeast Ohio.
"This partnership represents an exciting opportunity to collaborate with an outstanding Ohio company that shares our values of innovation, quality and community," Dr. Andrew T. Goodrich, Director of Athletics, said. "Together, we're building something that will create meaningful connections with our fans while generating new opportunities to support the future of Akron Athletics."

"Middle West Spirits was built in Ohio, with a deep commitment to the grains, people, and communities that define our home state. From developing our Crop to Cask process with regional farming partners to distilling and aging our spirits here in Ohio, craftsmanship and a strong sense of place have always been at the heart of who we are. This partnership gives us an opportunity to bring that story to the Akron community while celebrating the tradition, pride, and energy surrounding Zips Athletics."
CO-BRANDED SPIRITS PROGRAM
As part of the collaboration, the Zips and Middle West Spirits will work together to develop a premium co-branded spirits program inspired by the University and its traditions. The initiative is expected to evolve over the course of the partnership with future product offerings, fan experiences, and community-focused activations.
ADDITIONAL PARTNERSHIP NOTES
The partnership will also include a comprehensive marketing platform featuring in-venue branding, digital and social media integration, hospitality opportunities, special events and other fan engagement initiatives throughout the year.
In addition to creating memorable experiences for fans, the partnership is designed to generate long-term value for both organizations while supporting the continued growth and success of University of Akron Athletics.
