Akron Athletics Announces Cashless Transactions at All Athletic Events for the 2024-25 Season

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron Athletics Department announced its transition to cashless payments for all ticketing, concessions, and merchandise purchases at all Akron athletic venues, concession stands, and gear shops, beginning with the start of the 2024-25 sports seasons.
The first home athletic event for cashless transitions will be at FirstEnergy Stadium as the women's soccer team hosts Dayton for an exhibition match on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 1:00 p.m. The men's soccer team follows with a pair of exhibition matches on Sunday, Aug. 11 against Michigan and Friday, Aug. 16 versus Pitt. Both matches will be played at FirstEnergy stadium with a 7 p.m. kickoff time.
Cashless transactions have become the industry standard and is designed to improve the pre-game and gameday experiences for all fans by reducing wait time in lines at a ticket window, concessions area, or merchandise store/stand. In addition to getting fans to their seat sooner, cashless transactions promotes the overall health, security, and public safety of fans.
All major debit or credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay will be accepted on gamedays at the concession locations. The ticket office is unable to take Apple Pay or Google Pay.
