MUNCIE, Ind. – The University of Akron cross country team garnered strong individual performances to highlight the Zips' efforts at the We Fly Championship Preview hosted by Ball State on Saturday (Sept. 14).

Freshman Bismack Kipchirchir (Eldama Ravine, Kenya) crossed the line first in the men's 8K race in a career-best time of 24:29.50, while sophomore Mary Munga (Nyandarau, Kenya) led the Zips in the women's 6K race with a team-best time of 22:12.2.

Akron returns to competition traveling to Notre Dame, Ind., for Joe Piane Notre Dame Invite on Oct. 4.
