ST. CHARLES, Mo. – University of Akron lacrosse redshirt senior Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.) registered a team-high five goals and two assists, but the efforts of the Zips were not enough in an 18-12 setback at Lindenwood on Saturday (March 8).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Boyd netted a team-best five goals for the Zips, while tallying a pair of assists to direct Akron's offensive efforts.
• Sophomore Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, N.Y.), juniors Heather Carey (Williamsville, N.Y.) and Kellen Fletcher (Valencia, Pa.) and freshman Julia Mattingly (Leonardstown, Md.) added to the offensive production for Akron netting three, two, one and one goals, respectively.
• Recording one assist apiece was Fletcher and Hinchcliffe.
• Boyd, Carey and Hinchcliffe posted seven, five and five shots, respectively, for the Zips.
• Junior Katie Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) led Akron with four ground balls, while Hinchcliffe pulled in a team-high three draw controls.
• Redshirt senior Antonia Trickett (Cleveland, Ohio) tallied three caused turnovers, while senior goalkeeper Hannah Sanders (Massillon, Ohio) recorded seven saves in net for Akron.
