Schebler's Walk-Off Double Lifts Akron Over Central Michigan on Sunday

AKRON, Ohio -Â The Akron Zips rallied to score five in the ninth inning and walked it off on Charlie Schebler's three-run double to pick up the 7-6 win over the Central Michigan Chippewas Sunday.
Andrew Horvath led the Zips at the plate with a 4-for-5 day that featured a home run and two RBI. Kyle McConachie went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Evan Bottone and Max Bowman both recorded two hits each while Schebler's lone hit of the game was a walk-off double to give the Zips the win.
Brett Dietrich (1-1) got the win out of the bullpen for Akron (10-25, 3-15). The southpaw went one shutout inning, giving up one hit, no walks and striking out three. Sean Perkins also pitched well, going 2.2 shutout innings while allowing one hit, walking none and striking out two.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Zips were trailing 1-0 in the second inning when they first put runs on the board. Akron got an RBI single from McConachie, scoring Horvath from third base.
The Chippewas then scored five runs to retake their advantage heading into the sixth inning, when the Zips responded by getting back on the scoreboard themselves. Akron picked up a run on Horvath's one-out solo home run, which brought the score to 6-2 in favor of the Chippewas.
Akron kept its deficit in check, holding Central Michigan scoreless before scoring five runs in the bottom of the ninth to claim victory, walking it off on Schebler's bases-clearing double.
