MUNCIE, Ind. – The Akron Zips fired a 302 (+14) opening round score at the 2025 Mid-American Conference Women's Golf Championships on Sunday at Delaware Country Club as Maisarah Hezri, Sohniya Chandra Mohan and Hridhika Vora rank inside the Top 15.
Hezri led the Zips scoring with an even-par 72 total, ranking tied for fifth overall. Hezri carded a 38 (+2) score on the front-9 and rallied on the second half of the course with a 2-under showing. She recorded three consecutive birdies to open the back-9 and finished the 18-hole round with four total.
Chandra Mohan also recorded four birdies, registering three birdies on the first 9-holes of play. She completed the initial 18-holes with a 1-over par 73, ranking tied for ninth overall, while Vora landed tied for 15th on the players' leaderboard. Vora tallied a team-best five birdies en route to a 2-over par 74 score.
Rounding out the scoring for Akron were Emily Liptak and Daphne Van Son. Liptak posted an 83 (+11) and van Son posted an 85 (+13).
Akron will be back in action on Monday as second round tee times are as follows: van Son (11:10), Liptak (11:20), Vora (11:30), Chandra Mohan (11:40) and Hezri (11:50).
