Akron, Ohio – The Akron Zips are back at James A. Rhodes Arena to battle the Western Michigan Broncos on Thursday, and Friday, Oct. 8-9. Both matches are scheduled for 6 p.m. starts on ESPN+

Season Start: Akron enters the 2026 season with a 6-10 record after opening Mid-American Conference play 1-3. The Zips opened MAC play with a 3-0 victory at Kent State on Sept. 23 before falling to Toledo, 3-0, on Sept. 25. Akron then dropped a pair of four-set matches at Ohio on Oct. 2-3. The Zips opened the season with a 3-2 victory at ETSU and have added four-set victories over Cleveland State, Valparaiso and Youngstown State at home, as well as a road win at Cleveland State.
