Chandra Mohan, Hezri Lead Zips at Rio Verde Invitational

Rio Verde, Ariz. – The Akron golf team moved up one slot on the team leaderboard after firing 304 (+16) team score in the second round of the Rio Verde Invitational on Saturday.
Sohniya Chandra Mohan and Maisarah Hezri led the Zips scoring as both players recorded 2-over par 74 scores.
For the second straight day, Chandra Mohan was low score performer for the Zips and climbed six spots on the leaderboard to 17th overall with a 75-74 - 149 (+5) 36-hole total. She carded 12 pars and two birdies on the second 18-hole round, brining her tournament total to 21 pars and six birdies (tied for 7th overall).
Hezri climbed 18 spots on the leaderboard, ranking 18th with a 78-74 – 152 (+8), She collected 14 pars and one birdie during the second round and has 26 pars and one birdie for the tournament.
Also climbing the leaderboard were Hridhika Vora and Goethe Na Songkhla. Vora moved up three spots to 77th overall with an 82-77 – 159 (+15), while Na Songkhla elevated four sots to 87th with a 84-79 – 163 (+19).
Kaitlin Kormuth rounded out the scoring with a 77-81 – 158 (+14), ranking 69th overall.
The final 18-hole round of the Rio Verde Invitational is scheduled for a shotgun start on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 10:30 a.m. The Zips are scheduled to tee off from holes 11-14, starting with Chandra Mohan at hole 11 followed by, Hezri (12), Vora (13A), Kormuth (13B) and Na Songkhla (14).
