Kormuth Fires Tournament Low Final Round, Zips Finish 5th Overall

West Palm Beach, Fla. – The Akron Zips finished the first spring tournament fifth overall (317-295-294 - 906 (+42) as Kaitlin Kormuth fired a tournament low 4-under par 68 final round the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate at Hammock Creek Golf Club on Tuesday.
Kormuth carded her best performance at Akron to date and tied her career-low score by recording 10 par scores and six birdies. She finished the 54-hole tournament tied for 25th overall with 85-74-68 - 227 (+11) ledger. Kormuth registered 10 birdies, ranking tied for third among all players and added 27 pars (t-71st). She was tied for second in scoring for Akron with Sohniya Chandra Mohan.
Chandra Mohan finished the tournament with an even-par 72 performance. She ended the 54-hole event with a 76-79-72 - 227 (+11) score on 36 pars and four birdies. Her 36 par scores were tied for 10th overall.
Leading the Zips scoring was Maisarah Hezri, who finished 21st overall with a 75-73-77 – 225 (+9). Hezri ranked 17th overall with 35 pars and 29th in birdies (6), while teammate Hridhika Vora tied for 15th in birdies (7). Vora was fourt in scoring for Akron with 83-74-77 - 234 (+18) total.
Rounding out the scoring for the Zips was Emily Liptak with a 83-74-82 - 239 (+23) total as Akron improved its final 18-hole round by one stroke with a 294 (+6).
Akron will be back in action onf Friday through Sunday, Feb. 20-22 at the Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz.
