Brady Bowen's Walk-Off Home Run Lifts Akron past Western Michigan, 3-2

AKRON, Ohio -Â Tied 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth, Brady Bowen recorded his first collegiate home run to lift the Akron Zips to a 3-2 victory over Western Michigan on Sunday.Â
Brady led the offense with two hits, one being a home run, and one RBI. Blake Bowen hit a home run as well, while Brody Chrisman recorded one hit and an RBI.
Josiah Ross (1-2) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for Akron (7-9, 1-2). The right-hander went three innings, giving up one run on two hits, allowing one walk and striking out two. Trieg Matthews also made an impact on the mound for the Zips, throwing five shutout innings while allowing no hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Zips were trailing 1-0 in the second inning when they first put runs on the board. Blake Bowen put Akron on the board with a leadoff home run off R. Kidd.
The Broncos broke the tie and re-took the lead heading into the eighth inning, when the Zips got back on the scoreboard. Akron scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Brody Chrisman, which evened the score at 2-2.
The game remained tied until the bottom of the ninth, when Akron walked it off on Brady Bowen's one-out solo home run off of Wizceb.
