Akron Basketball Announces 2026-27 Conference Schedule

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference unveiled its 2026-27 conference slate on Wednesday, August 12.
The Akron men's basketball team is set to begin #MACtion on Wednesday, December 2, when it welcomes Ball State to James A. Rhodes Arena while the women's team will host UMass on Saturday, January 2 to begin conference action.
Along with Ball State, the men's squad will host Bowling Green (Dec. 19), Western Michigan (Jan. 2), Miami (Jan. 9), Central Michigan (Jan.
19), Ohio (Jan. 26), UMass (Jan. 30), Buffalo (Feb. 9), Eastern Michigan (Feb. 20), Toledo (Feb. 23) and Kent State (Mar. 5).
The Blue and Gold will be on the road to face Buffalo (Dec. 16), UMass (Dec. 29), Ohio (Jan. 5), Eastern Michigan (Jan. 12), Toledo (Jan. 16), Miami (Jan. 23), Western Michigan (Feb. 2), Kent State (Feb. 13), Bowling Green (Feb. 16), Ball State (Feb. 27) and Central Michigan (Mar. 2).
Along with UMass, Akron's women's team will host Ball State (Jan. 6), Ohio (Jan. 16), Central Michigan (Jan. 20), Kent State (Jan. 30), Bowling Green (Feb. 10), Miami (Feb. 20), Toledo (Feb. 24) and Western Michigan (Mar. 6).
The Blue and Gold will travel to Toledo (Jan. 9), Buffalo (Jan. 13), Eastern Michigan (Jan. 23), UMass (Jan. 27), Western Michigan (Feb. 3), Central Michigan (Feb. 13). Ball State (Feb. 17), Kent State (Feb. 27) and Ohio (Mar. 3).
The men's basketball regular season will conclude on Friday, March 5, with the top eight teams in the conference moving on to Cleveland's Rocket Arena for the MAC Men's Basketball Tournament on March 10-13.
The women's basketball regular season will conclude on Saturday, March 6, with the top eight teams in the conference moving on to Cleveland's Rocket Arena for the MAC Women's Basketball Tournament on March 10-13.
The conference office will release a full men's and women's basketball television schedule in October.
