AKRON, Ohio -- The No. 6/10 ranked Akron Zips improved to 2-0-1 after Noa Testa found the back of the net to take down the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest at FirstEnergy Stadium on Friday (Aug. 28).
Testa's goal in the 84th minute proved to be the game winner and stands as his first collegiate goal. The Zips controlled the pace of the game in a physical match up against Wake Forest, leading in nearly every statistical category. Akron outshot the Deamon Deacons 17-9 and 6-1 on goal while maintaining possession for 62-percent of the match.Â
Akron's defensive effort limited the Wake Forest attack and provided favorable field position for the Zips throughout the match. Goalkeeper Brett Kaminski earned the shutout victory, defending five shots and registering one save on the Demon Deacons lone attempt on goal.Â
