Cross Country Travels to WMU's George Dales Invitational

AKRON, Ohio — The Akron cross country teams will travel to Kalamazoo for WMU's George Dales Invitational at The Prairies Golf Club.
The women's 6K race is set to begin at 10 a.m., while the men's 8K race will start at 10:40 a.m.
Teams set to compete on the women's side are Central Michigan. Saginaw Valley State, Dayton, Eastern Michigan, Hope, Marian, Bowling Green, Western Michigan, Oakland, Ball State, Grace and Ferris State. In the men's race, runners from Ferris State, Marian, Dayton, Bowling Green, Oakland, Central Michigan, Saginaw Valley State, Hope and Grace will compete.
Akron's first meet of the season came back on September 4 at the Tommy Evans Invitational. Held at the Silver Creek Cross Country Trails, the women's squad dominated with a first-place finish and taking each of the top five finishes. Megan Hipple came away as the winner in the 5K race in a time of 17:05.7, while Noah Nyageo won the men's 6K race with a mark of 17:50.1.
