Zips Prepare for Three-Day Magnus Cup Meet

AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zips women's swimming and diving will head to Cleveland for the weekend for three days of competition at the Cleveland State University Magnus Cup at the Busbey Natatorium on November 16, 17, and 18.
The field includes six men's teams and twelve women's teams. The Zips will be competing against Bowling Green, Canisius, Cleveland State, Florida Gulf Coast, Gannon, IUP, Niagara, Northern Colorado, Toledo, Tulane, and Xavier.
All three days will follow the same format with prelims beginning at 9 a.m., diving at 1 p.m., and finals at 5 p.m. All relay finals will only be contested during finals.
About the Zips
In last year's Magnus Cup, Akron took the top spot with 1,532.5 points and have won six times in the ten year history of the championship. In 2023 they look for the three-peat. Coming into the weekend, the Zips look to have a strong performance after losing back-to-back dual meets against Ohio State (77.5-222.5) and Ohio (126-173).
