AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron women's soccer fell 2-0 to Bowling Green on Sunday (Oct. 27) at FirstEnergy Stadium.
How it Happened
Akron kept Bowling Green battled through a scoreless opening half with the Falcons posting a 3-2 edge in shots.
Bowling Green scored what proved to be the game-winning tally when Emma Stransky found the back of the net at the 59:27 mark. The Falcons then added a goal in the 88th minute (87:17) from Lexi Czerwein to round out the scoring in the match.
Sophomore GK Sara Bower (Cincinnati, Ohio) led Akron with two saves.
The Zips recorded seven shots, two of them on goal. Akron faced 13 Bowling Green shots, five of them on goal.
