AKRON, Ohio - The 14th-ranked University of Akron rifle team travels to Colorado Springs, Colo., for a pair of matches versus No. 4 Kentucky and No. 10 Air Force on Saturday (Nov. 23) and Sunday (Nov. 24) at 10 a.m. ET each day.

The Zips will square off against the Wildcats and Falcons on the campus of the Air Force Academy on Saturday before competing against the same schools at the United States Olympic Training Center on Sunday.

Redshirt senior Gavin Perkowski (Bolivar, Ohio) leads the Zips this season posting team-best averages of 1179.88 and 594.75, respectively, in the combined and air rifles, while redshirt senior Erin Schnupp (Gorham, Maine) owns a team-best average of 585.50 in the smallbore rifle.

Scheduled to compete for the Zips this weekend will be Perkowski and Schnupp along with seniors Rachel Engels (Meridian, Idaho) and Alexis Kirk (Clarence Center, N.Y.) and juniors Rachael Paddock (Perry, N.Y.) and Natalia Siek (Flemington, N.J.)

Akron returns to competition traveling to Fairbanks, Ala., to battle Army, Ole Miss and Alaska Fairbanks on Jan. 18-19, 2025.
