MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The 12th-ranked University of Akron rifle team dropped a 4711-4675 decision at No. 13 Memphis on Saturday (Nov. 9).

In smallbore, redshirt senior Gavin Perkowski (Bolivar, Ohio) set a new season-high mark of 587 to headline Akron's efforts. Junior Logan McClimans (Jamestown, N.Y.) battled his way to an impessive 579, which tied him with senior Rachel Engels (Meridian, Idaho) as the next two Zips on the leaderboard.

Perkowski again lead the squad in air rifle posting a team-best 593 score. He was followed by Engels and junior Rachael Paddock (Perry, N.Y.) with like 589 totals.

Akron returns to competition hosting No. 10 Navy and No. 13 Nebraska in an 8 a.m. match on Saturday (Nov. 16) at the Robert A. Pinn Shooting Range.
