Akron Finishes Seventh Overall, Wright Leads the Way at the Lady Jaguar Invitational

Carmel, Ind. – The Akron golf team climbed one spot to finish seventh overall at the 2024 Lady Jaguar Invitational hosted by IUPUI at the Plum Creek Golf Course (Par 72, 6,157 Yards) on Sunday.
The Zips fired 313 and 316 for a 629 (+53) tournament total as sophomore Avery Wright led the way for Akron. Wright placed tied for sixth overall with rounds of 77 (+5) and 74 (+2) for a 151 (+7) total. She carded 22 par scores and four birdies, including three birdies during the final 18-hole round.
Senior Abbi Fleiner followed in scoring for Akron, registering a pair of 77 (+5) scores for a 154 (+10) total to finish tied for 17th overall. Fleiner carded 20 par scores and four birdies.
Senior Jessica Hahn finished third in scoring for the Zips with a 79-80 – 159 (+15), while sophomore Hridhika Vora and freshman Katrin Horn Danielsdottir rounded out the scoring with 166 (+22) and 172 (+28) scores, respectively.
Up next for Akron is the Mid-American Conference Women's Golf Championships on Sunday through Tuesday, April 21-23 at Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City, Ohio.
