The Zips' contest versus Eastern Michigan on Wednesday (March 5) will mark Senior Night in the careers of seniors Shelbee Brown, Emily Hall, Ellen Kinnaird (Lewis Center, Ohio), Alexus Mobley and Zakia Rasheed (Avon, Ind.).

Kelly Simmons of the Akron women's basketball program was among 21 graduate assistants who participated in the TopConnect Graduate Assistant Leadership Academy with coach Josh Pastner.

Simmons completed eight sessions and is among the future leaders in college basketball.

This academy identifies up-and-coming coached in the country and provides them the necessary skills and relationships to assist them on their career path.
