SCOUTING REPORT
The Cardinals come into the series with a 17-9 overall record, a 5-1 record in the MAC and a 6-6 record on the road.
Ball State is coming off a 5-4 victory against Southern Indiana on March 25.
After falling behind 4-1 through the first three innings, the Cardinals scored three runs in the eighth inning to secure the victory. Blake Bevis hit two solo home runs in the win. Owen Quinn got the win with five punchouts in 2.2 innings in relief.
Garrett Arnold leads the Cardinals in batting average (.377) and is one of seven Cardinals who are hitting .290 or above. Dylan Grego holds the lead for hits (35) and is tied for the lead in doubles (6). Bevis is the leader in triples (2) and home runs (8) while tied for stolen bases (11). Nick Husovsky leads Ball State in RBI (26).
On the mound, Keegan Johnson leads the pitching staff in ERA (2.86) in six starts while holding a 4-0 record. Johnson also leads the staff for innings pitched (34.2). Garrett Harker leads Ball State in saves (5) while Jacob Hartlub is the leader in strikeouts (37).

The Zips are coming off an 8-2 loss at Oakland on March 25. Akron had chances against the Grizzlies, with 11 runners left on base. The Zips were led by Max Bowman, who went 2-for-4 on the day with a double and a walk. Blake Bowen furnished a standout performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Caden Matlon also contributed for Akron, putting together one hit in two trips to the plate while adding an RBI.
Matlon leads the Zips in batting average (.340) and is one of five Zips to hit above .300 this season. Andrew Horvath and Evan Bottone are tied for the lead in hits (3) while Horvath leads the way in doubles (9). Bowen and Bowman share the lead in home runs (3) while Bowman leads the way in RBI (20). Jack Poist is the leader for the Zips in stolen bases (10).
