AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron track and field team posted five top five performances to round out the weekend efforts for the Zips at the Don McGarey Invitational and Texas Relays on Saturday (March 29).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Junior Josiah Cox (New Franklin, Ohio) placed second in the men's shot put with a career-best mark of 58-7.25 (17.86m), while redshirt senior Keegan Digby (Bowling Green, Ohio) finished fourth with a mark of 56-1.50 (17.11m).
• Redshirt senior Brook Boes (Tiffin, Ohio) finished third in the women's shot put with a mark of 45-11.50 (14.01m), while redshirt junior Gabrielle Griffiths (Fort Worth, Texas) placed fifth with a throw of 43-5.75 (13.25m).
• Redshirt senior Hunter Garretson (Newcomerstown, Ohio) placed fourth in the elite men's pole vault at the Texas Relays with a clearance of 17-10.50 (5.45m).

Akron returns to action at the Cherry Blossom Invitational and Florida Relays next weekend.
