Akron Drops Second Game of the Series Against Eastern Michigan

AKRON, Ohio --The Zips jumped out to an early 4-0 lead over Eastern Michigan, but couldn't hold on as they fell 12-5 on Saturday.
Akron was led by Evan Bottone and Max Bowman who each had two hits. Bowman produced a team-high two RBI against the Eagles.
David Moore (0-1) came out of the bullpen for Akron (5-9, 0-2) and took the loss. Brett Dietrich was a bright spot for the Zips, coming out of the bullpen as well and throwing one shutout inning, allowing one hit, with no walks and two strikeouts. Jack Fenton got the start and struck out six over 5.1 innings of work while allowing seven hits, four runs and walking four.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Zips got on the scoreboard first, starting in the second inning. Akron's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a two-run single off the bat of Bowman.
The Eagles then rallied to score 10 runs and take a 10-4 lead before the Zips got back on the board in the seventh. Akron scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Blake Bowen, which brought the score to 10-5 in favor of the Eagles. The Zips were unable to get any closer, as Eastern Michigan added two runs to their tally on the way to a 12-5 final.
