Zips Shutout Cedarville at Skeeles Field, 10-0; Faulds Collects Win No. 100

AKRON, Ohio -Â Elijah Griffith, Â John Allen and Jackson Frasure combined to throw a shutout on Monday as the Akron Zips blanked the
Cedarville Yellow Jackets 10-0 while head coach Bryan Faulds collected his 100th career victory as a head coach.
At the plate, the Zips were paced by Andrew Horvath's 3-for-4 day that included a double, a walk and a RBI. Nicky Sackett added a 2-for-3 performance with two RBI and two walks. Will Heisler hit a home run in his lone plate appearance and added two RBI to his name against the Yellow Jackets.
Griffith (2-1) started and picked up the win for Akron (13-26), going five shutout innings while giving up five hits, walking none, and striking out three. Allen threw 2.0 innings of scoreless relief with one strikeout while Frasure dealt one shutout inning without allowing a hit, walking none and striking out one.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Zips took the lead for good in the first, when they brought home two runs.
The Zips then tacked on runs in five more innings, with their biggest output coming in the eighth when they scored three times. Two of those three runs scored on a two-run homer from Heisler.
