ALLIANCE, Ohio – A trio of victories as part of eight overall top five finishes highlighted the performances of the Akron track and field team at the Walsh Tune-Up on Wednesday and Thursday (April 23-24).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Redshirt junior Gabrielle Griffiths (Fort Worth, Texas) registered a career-best mark of 192-10 (58.79m) to win the women's hammer.
• Senior Lane Graham (Killbuck, Ohio) bested the field in the men's hammer with a mark of 198-9 (60.59m).
• Redshirt senior Brook Boes (Tiffin, Ohio) won the women's discus with a throw of 160-8 (48.99m).

UP NEXT:
Akron will compete at the Ashland Alumni Open and Drake Relays on Friday (April 25).
