KENT, Ohio - Andrew Horvath went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI, but the Akron Zips still came up short on Sunday, and fell to the Kent State Golden Flashes by a final of 6-3.

In the batter's box, the Zips were led by Horvath, who went 2-for-4 on the day with a triple and two RBI. Max Bowman put together a noteworthy day at the plate as well, going 2-for-4 with a double. Caden Matlon also helped out for Akron, putting together one hit in four trips to the plate while adding an RBI.

Jack Fenton (0-2) took the loss on the mound for Akron (14-29, 7-17). The right-hander went two innings, giving up four runs, zero earned, on three hits, allowing one walk and striking out three. Jack Kelley started the ballgame and went five innings, surrendering two runs, both earned, on four hits, walking three and striking out three.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Zips put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the third inning. Akron scored three runs in the frame, highlighted by a two-run triple from Horvath. The Zips were unable to hold the lead, as Kent State scored six times over the remaining six innings to grab the 6-3 win.
