GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Senior Joy Nwokike (Benin City, Nigeria) ran a school-record time of 52.90 in the women's 400 meters to headline the efforts of the Zips on the final day of the Florida Relays on Saturday (April 5).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Nwokike broke her own school record in the women's 400 meters crossing the line in 52.90.
• Sophomore Rennie Gittens, Jr. (Miami, Fla.), ran a career-best time of 10.64 in the men's 100 meters.
• Sophomore Andrew Styles (Freeport, Bahamas) crossed the line in a career-best time of 47.45 in the men's 400 meters.
UP NEXT:
Akron competes at the John Homon Open hosted by Mount Union next weekend.
