MAC Tournament: Akron Falls to Ball State in Opening Game

AKRON, Ohio -Â Junior Meagan Lee went 2 for 3 with a double, but the Zips were unable to advance past Ball State, falling 9-1 on Wednesday.
Offensively, the Zips were led by Lee, while sophomore Delaney Jenkinson recorded the Zips third hit and sophomore Katie Cantrell walked as the Zips only had five baseruners on the day. Junior Brooke Sivek scored the Zips lone run after reaching on a fielders choice.
Sophomore Macy Walters (15-10) started and took the loss in the circle for Akron (28-24).
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Zips put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the third inning. Akron got an RBI single from Lee, scoring junior Brooke Sivek from first base. The Zips were unable to hold the lead, as Ball State scored nine times over the remaining three innings to grab the 9-1 win.
