McConachie Strings Together 3 Hits in Akron's Loss to Western Carolina

CULLOWHEE, N.C. -Â The Akron Zips got three hits from Kyle McConachie in a 12-2 loss to the Western Carolina Catamounts Tuesday.
In addition to his three hits, McConachie had a double and an RBI to lead the Zips. Henry Hayman furnished a noteworthy day at the dish as well, going 2-for-3 with a walk. Easton Amundson also chipped in for Akron, putting together one hit in four trips to the plate while adding a double.
Carter Beck (0-1) got the ball to start for Akron (3-5) and took the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Zips were trailing 9-0 in the seventh inning when they first put runs on the board. Akron scored twice, with one run coming across on McConachie's single. The Zips were unable to get any closer, as Western Carolina added three runs to their tally on the way to a 12-2 final.
