Akron Athletics Announces Partnership with Regency Global Sourcing to Elevate Football Facilities
April 16 | General
AKRON, Ohio — Akron Athletics is proud to announce a new partnership with Regency Global Sourcing, highlighting its brand theofficeplace.com, to support enhancements to the University of Akron Football program's facilities.
Through this partnership, Regency Global Sourcing played a key role in the transformation of the Akron Football offices—reimagining the space into a modern, functional, and recruiting-focused environment designed to better serve student-athletes and coaches.
Led by owner Skip Summerville, the project was rooted in a clear vision: to create a space that reflects the pride, professionalism, and forward momentum of Akron Football.
"Our goal was to create an environment that student-athletes and coaches are excited to walk into every day," said Summerville. "The previous space no longer reflected the standards or aspirations of the program. By updating the furniture, integrating new technology like video boards and televisions, and rethinking how the space is used, we were able to help transform it into a place that supports both performance and culture."
Previously, the football offices lacked the functionality and aesthetic expected of a modern Division I program. The redesigned space now features updated furnishings, enhanced film review capabilities, and a cohesive, professional atmosphere that aligns with the program's commitment to excellence.
The upgraded environment is already serving as a valuable tool for both recruiting and retention, providing prospective and current student-athletes with a first-class experience that reflects the direction of the program.
"This transformation is about more than just furniture—it's about creating a space that represents who we are and where we're going as we make the climb," said Director of Athletics Dr. Andrew T. Goodrich. "We're grateful to Regency Global Sourcing and theofficeplace.com for their vision, expertise, and commitment to helping us elevate Akron Football."
