Akron Posts Strong Performances at Pair of Saturday Meets

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron track and field team garnered 18 top 10 performances on the final day of the Jim Green Invitational and Jesse Owens Classic on Saturday (May 2).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Sophomore Kaden Rambatt (Sharon, Wis.) won the men's pole vault eclipsing 17-1 (5.21m), while sophomore Garett Boe (Chesapeake, Va.) placed third with a career-best mark of 16-7.25 (5.06m).
• Sophomore Shania Thomas (Bridgetown, Barbados) placed second in the women's triple jump with a career-best mark of 39-11.25 (12.17m).
• Redshirt senior Owen Wendl (Medina, Ohio) finished third in the men's shot put with a mark of 60-4.50 (18.40m).
• Sophomore Amari Noble (Virginia Beach, Va.) placed third in the men's discus with a career-best throw of 189-11 (57.90m).
• The men's 4x100 relay crossed the line in 40.31 to finish third.
