HIGH POINT, N.C. – A pair of victories highlighted the efforts of the Akron track and field team on the opening day of the Bob Davidson Team Challenge on Friday (March 21).

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Senior Lane Graham (Killbuck, Ohio) won the men's hammer with a mark of 199-7 (60.83m).
• Redshirt junior Gabrielle Griffiths (Houston, Texas) bested the field in the women's hammer with a career-best mark of 180-5 (55.01m), while sophomore Victoria Kuol (Centerville, Ohio) placed third with a career-best throw of 174-6 (53.20m).
• Griffiths was Akron's top finisher in the women's javelin registering a career-best mark of 134-1 (40.86m) to place fourth.
• Redshirt senior Jacob Glavickas (Orwell, Ohio) led Akron in the men's javelin placing fourth with a career-best mark of 193-8 (59.05m).
