AZUSA, Calif. – A quartet of top five performances headlined the efforts of the Akron track and field team at a pair of meets on Friday (April 18).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Redshirt senior Brook Boes (Tiffin, Ohio) recorded a career-best mark of 185-1 (56.42m) in the women's hammer to place third.
• Freshman Rukia Omulisia (Nairobi, Kenya) registered a career-best time of 13.81 to place third in the women's 100-meter hurdles.
• Redshirt junior Owen Wendl (Medina, Ohio) posted a career-best throw of 58-1 (17.70m) to finish fifth in the men's shot put with the fifth-best mark in outdoor program history.
• The men's 4x400 relay team of sophomores Braylyn Farrington (Alabaster, Ala.), AJ Jordan (Columbus, Ohio) and Andrew Styles (Freeport, Bahamas) and junior Tysean Baronette (Middletown, Del.) finished fifth in a time of 3:11.95.

Akron is set to compete the Beach Invitational in Long Beach, Calif., Mt. Sac Relays on Walnut, Calif., Tiffin Carnival in Tiffin, Ohio, and Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Va., on Saturday (April 19).
