Madie Jamrog Earns MAC Pitcher of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference selected Akron junior pitcher Madie Jamrog (Holland, Mich.) as MAC Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Jamrog had a spectacular week/weekend in Charleston, S.C. as the Zips posted a 4-2 record, defeating Charleston (11-5), UConn (2-0), Western Carolina (10-1) and Charleston Southern (10-2) while falling to Sacred Heart (3-1, 9 inn.) and UConn (7-2).
For the week, Jamrog posted a 0.78 earned run average in 18 innings pitched. She limited opponents to a .164 batting average, allowing 10 hits and two walks with 11 strikeouts. Jamrog only allowed two earned runs in three appearances with two complete games and two starts. She finished the week 2-1 overall.
The Akron Zips travel to Raleigh, N.C. for the Raleigh Times Tournament hosted by NC State on Friday through Sunday, Feb. 20-22 for five games. Akron is scheduled to play Providence and Illinois on Feb. 20, Illinois and NC State on Feb. 21 and NC State on Feb. 22 at Dail Softball Stadium.
