EVANSVILLE, IN -- Akron secured a 2-1 victory on the road against Southern Indiana on at Strassweg Field Thursday (Aug. 20).

The Zips recorded the first goal of the match as Grace Shondel registered the initial goal on an assist from Eesha Sutharshan in the 66^th minute.

The Eagles responded quickly with the equalizer, knotting the match 1-1 in the 68^th minute.

UA's Callee DalBon responded with what proved to be the game winner in the 82^nd minute as Hattie Yugovich and Olivia Pilato provided the assists.

The Zips placed six of nine shots on goal as USI held the advantage in both categories (18 shots, 10 shots on goal). Akron Goalkeeper limited the Eagles to one goal while recording nine saves.

With the win, Akron improved to 2-0-0 overall.

How it Happened
Akron broke the scoreless tie when Grace Shondel scored her first goal of the season in the 65th minute, assisted by Eesha Sutharshan.

The Screaming Eagles evened the game on a goal from Emma Schut in the 66th minute.

Akron then broke the 1-1 tie on Callee Dalbon's 81st-minute goal, her first of the season. Hattie Yugovich and Olivia Pilato assisted the goal. The score finished off the 2-1 game.
