SCOUTING REPORT
The Duquesne hosts Akron for its home opener at Rooney Field for a 7:00 p.m. start. The Dukes are 1-2 on the season, falling 3-1 to Eastern Michigan and 2-0 at No. 22 West Virginia. Duquesne defeated Cleveland State 3-0. The Dukes four goals on the season were scored by four different players as midfielder Jayden Sharpless, defender Kiley Johnson, forward Zoe Fries and midfielder Allison Bechtel all found the back of the net. Forward Brynn Ramsey also scored two points for the Dukes with a pair of assists.

OPEN THE SEASON WITH BACK-TO-BACK WINS
The Akron Zips women's soccer team opened the 2026 season with a 3-Nil win over Oakland as Rachel Wenzel scored a pair of goals and Sara Bower pitched a shutout at the Zips home opener at FirstEnergy Stadium. Wenzel netted the Zips first goal of the season in the 33rd minute on an assist by Olivia Heskett and Addison Hall. Emma Ogdahl followed with her first collegiate goal on an assist from Callee DalBon in the 42nd minute. Wenzel found the back of the net for a second time, scoring off a pass from Olivia Pilato in the 78th minute to give Akron the 3-0 advantage. Bower recorded four saves in the shutout effort.

Akron moved to 2-0 on the season with a 2-1 win over Southern Indiana The Zips recorded the first goal of the match as Grace Shondel registered the initial goal on an assist from Eesha Sutharshan in the 66th minute. The Eagles responded quickly with the equalizer, knotting the match 1-1 in the 68th minute. UA's Callee DalBon responded with what proved to be the game winner in the 82nd minute as Hattie Yugovich and Olivia Pilato provided the assists.

ALL-MAC IN 2025
University of Akron women's soccer standouts junior Jordanne Oberhaus and freshman Addison Hall garnered All-Mid-American Conference accolades when the league unveiled its 2025 award winners in a vote of the league coaches released on Friday (Oct. 31).

Oberhaus headlined the Zips' award winners as she was selected as a Second-Team honoree, while Hall was tabbed to the All-Freshman team.

IT'S OFFICIAL
Maggie Kuhn was officially named the head coach of the Akron women's soccer team on December 11, 2025. Kuhn served as the Interim Head Coach for the Zips during the 2025 campaign and will enter her fifth season overall with the Akron program in 2026.
