LEXINGTON, Va. - The 12th-rated University of Akron rifle squad earned victories past No. 19 UAB (4671-4637) and No. 21 VMI (4671-4587) on Saturday (Nov. 1).

In the smallbore division, senior Natalia Siek (Flemington, N.J.) pulled in top-gun honors in smallbore with a 584 mark. Rounding out the top three for Akron were seniors Rachael Paddock (Perry, N.Y.) and Joey Hahn (Middle Grove, N.Y.) with like 578's.Â

Freshmen Matthew Kimball (Pineville, La.) led the Zips in the air rifle taking top-gun accolades with a mark of 595.

Akron returns to competition traveling to Columbus to battle No. 10 Murray State, No. 12 UTEP and No. 14 Ohio State on Saturday (Nov. 8).
