Akron Falls to Eastern Kentucky

RICHMOND, Ky. -- Sophomore Katie Cantrell distributed the Zips only hit as Akron fell to Eastern Kentucky 4-0 on the final day of the EKU Tournament on Sunday.Â
Freshman Maddelynn Lee (3-3) got the ball to start for Akron (10-9) and took the loss. Sophomore Madie Jamrog was a bright spot for the Zips, coming out of the bullpen and throwing 2.2 shutout innings, allowing two hits, with no walks and two strikeouts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Akron managed zero chances with runners on third in the shutout, going a total of 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position. The Zips last got a runner on third in the first, when junior Meagan Lee made it 60 feet away from scoring with two outs.
GAME NOTES
» Akron pitchers faced 26 Eastern Kentucky hitters in the game, allowing four ground balls and eight fly balls while striking out four.
» The Zips drew four walks from Eastern Kentucky pitching.
