AKRON, Ohio - The Akron baseball team will travel to Dayton, Ohio., to battle the Dayton Flyers on Tuesday, April 1 for a non-conference match-up.

SCOUTING REPORT
Dayton comes into Tuesday's contest with a 13-17 overall record and a 9-6 record at home.
The Flyers are coming off a 2-2 week that featured an A-10 series victory over Davidson. Dayton took the first two games of the series before falling 22-13 in the series finale. All three games were high-scoring, with the Flyers taking the first two games 18-17 and 21-4.
The two schools played a double-header to conclude the series. In game one of the doubleheader, Dyrenson Wouters set a new career-high with five hits to lead the Dayton offense, while Bobby Stang slugged a pair of homers and drove in six and Mason Dobie added his third long ball of the season in addition to a three-hit performance. Ty Mainolfi smacked his first career home run and finished the day with two RBI and two runs scored, and Michael DiMartini went 3-for-5 at the plate with a pair of runs scored and driven in. J.J. Gatti pitched seven scoreless innings, striking out seven while conceding just a pair of hits in the win.
DiMartini leads the Flyers in batting average (.443), hits (54), triples (5) home runs (8) and stolen bases (23). Rylan Lujo is the leader in doubles (12) and RBI (38).
On the mound, Lukas Rondeau leads the Flyers in ERA (1.42) through seven appearances and 6.1 innings of work while recording one save and one win. Bennett LaPalm has won four games this season in 11 appearances. Chris Peguero is the leader in innings pitched (38.0) and strikeouts (44).

The Zips conclude their series with Ball State by splitting a doubleheader on Saturday, with the Blue and Gold taking the final game of the series 11-5 over the Cardinals.
Max Bowman, Caden Matlon and Ian Pennington all had a three-hit game to help propel the Akron Zips over the Ball State Cardinals 11-5 on Saturday.
Matlon's two extra-base hits were the highlight of a 3-for-4 day, and included two doubles and a walk. Pennington made his contribution with two doubles and an RBI, part of a 3-for-5 performance at the plate. Blake Bowen also chipped in for the Zips, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate while adding a home run and two RBI. Jack Poist added to the home run tally while collecting two hits and driving in two runs. Max Bowman went 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Jack Kelley (1-1) started on the mound and picked up the win for Akron (7-20, 1-11). The right-hander went 5.2 innings, giving up four runs, all of them earned, on three hits, allowing three walks and striking out five. Johnny Anservitz also made an impact on the mound for the Zips, throwing one scoreless inning while allowing one hit.
Bowman leads the Zips in batting average (.347) and is one of five Akron hitters to hit above .300. Bowman also leads the Zips in hits (35) and RBI (22). Horvath holds the lead in doubles (10) while Bowen is the leader in home runs (5). Poist leads the Zips in stolen bases (10).
On the mound, Nathan Currah leads the Zips in ERA (2.57) through six appearances. Seven Zips have recorded a win this season while Jared Schaeffer is the leader in innings pitched (38.2) and strikeouts (40).
