CMU is coming off a 6-5 victory at Michigan State on April 9. Cayden Smith hit a three-run homer and Central Michigan pitching allowed just one run on three hits over the final eight innings on Wednesday as the Chippewas posted a 6-5 non-conference baseball victory over Michigan State at MSU's McLane Stadium.
Aaron Piasecki leads CMU in batting average (.318), hits (41) and walks (17). Cayden Smith is the leader in doubles (11) while Cole Prout is the leader in home runs (5) and RBI (22). Zach Knowlton leads the way in stolen bases (11).
On the mound, Jack Otis leads the staff in ERA (1.93) in five appearances and 4.2 innings of work. Two Chippewas have posted two wins while Alejandro Espinoza is the leader in innings pitched (38.1). Evan Waters is the leader in strikeouts (24).
