ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Akron Zips fell on the road to the Michigan Wolverines 13-0 on Tuesday.
Michigan starter Tate Carey tossed seven innings of no-hit baseball while Evan Bottone reached base on a walk and Jack Poist reached on a fielder's choice, both in the seventh, to represent the Zips on the base path.
Josiah Ross (1-2) started and took the loss on the mound for Akron (9-23). Brett Dietrich was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going one shutout inning while allowing one hit, walking none and striking out one.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Zips return to Mid-American Conference action when they host Central Michigan for three games starting on Friday, April 11.
